My name is Don Donovan. I’m a recently retired high school science teacher after 36 years in the classroom, teaching everything from physics and chemistry to biology, environmental science, and math. I’ve worked with students at all levels, from those who needed extra patience to those who asked questions that kept me up at night. These days, I write short essays about learning, science, and the world around us. Fair warning: the writing is occasionally a bit egotistical—after all, it’s hard to spend decades explaining things and not develop opinions. I mix classroom stories, literature, history, and everyday moments to explore how people learn, why curiosity matters, and why good questions are often more important than answers.
